Somalian Based Terrorist Group, al-Shabaab, Claim Responsibility for Nairobi Attack

Al-Shabaab strikes again. A few hours ago, the Al-Shabaab Islamist group in Somalia claimed responsibility for the bloody terrorist attack currently going on in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi, this was reported by the SITE Intelligence Group – an organization that monitors terrorist activities. The attack was carried out in DusitD2 hotel and office compound in the Nairobi suburb of Westlands, where a blast and gunfire were heard. In a tweet, The Associated Press said: “BREAKING: Somalia-based extremist group al-Shabaab claims responsibility for Nairobi attack, says fighters still inside complex.” Similarly, Huff Post in the UK tweeted: “Everybody was just running everywhere.' Tanzania: "I Track Telephone Conversations of my Ministers," President Magufuli Admits

Is President Magufuli right to spy on telephone conversations of ministers in his cabinet? One can only wonder how government appointees in the cabinet of Tanzanian president, John Magufuli, reacted when they heard that their personal telephone conversations were being monitored all along by their boss. The president, while urging his ministers to improve their working relations and attitudes has revealed that he tracks the telephone conversations of his ministers in a bid to monitor the reactions resulting from his government’s policies. He made the remarks during a speech delivered at the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed permanent secretaries and other senior officials to be inducted into his cabinet; which took place at the State House, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Opposition leader Felix Tshisekedi has won the presidential vote in the Democratic Republic of Congo according to the provisional results announced by the country's electoral board. Felix Tshisekedi, the leader of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS) party, which is the main opposition party in the Democratic Republic of Congo has won the elections, according to provisional results announced by the country's electoral board.  The news filtered in on late Wednesday, with riot police having been deployed at the commission's headquarters in the country's capital, Kinshasa. Protests are expected to erupt in the wake of fears of a disputed result in the long-delayed December 30 vote marked by accusations of vote fraud.
